Anne McClary at the PearTree

Anne McClary

And we have another booking by way of Anne McClary and a more charming and lovely person you could meet. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her at the Ragged Talks and looking forward to hearing her sing. Here’s what she has to say.

I am a singer/songwriter and percussionist (bodhran, occasionally congas and a number of small percussion instruments).

I sing traditional and self-penned songs in the traditional style, and also some classical and ecclesiastical items. I have been a singer all my life, learning from my mother who also sang, and in 2012 I obtained a first class honours degree in folk and traditional music at Newcastle university.

I have performed in many large venues, including The SageGateshead, Southwell Minster and Whitby Pavilion Theatre, and at many folk clubs and festivals around Britain. I have also recorded for the BBC.
